Food & Wine Club Event

FOOD & WINE CLUB EVENT AT HARVEYS OF RAMSGATE*
WITH EMINENT WINE COMMENTATOR & EXPERT, FRANK WARD
FRIDAY 5TH MARCH, 7 FOR 7.30PM

I am delighted to invite you to the next Food & Wine Club event at Harveys of Ramsgate.

We are honoured to have as our Guest Speaker for the evening Mr Frank Ward. Frank is a food and wine author as well as critic, and, having spent several years living and working in Sweden, is one of the world's leading lights in that nation's gastronomic world.

Mr Ward has worked for over 30 years in the wine trade, collecting and serving collectors of the finest and rarest wines known to humanity. His knowledge and passion for the wines of France is virtually unsurpassed and his anecdotes will amuse and surprise many listeners!

For those of you unfamiliar with our Food & Wine Club events at Harveys, the form of the evening is quite simple in essence.

The dinner takes place in the upstairs Private Dining Room, overlooking the beautiful Royal Harbour, with wonderful views over the water and lights.

The dinner consists of starter, fish dish, meat dish and dessert, each course accompanied with a glass of wine especially chosen to compliment the dish.

As space for these events is very limited, tickets are available only in advance of the evening.

Tickets are £35 per person or £180 for a group of 6

KENT INNS SUPPORT OF THE BRITISH RED CROSS HAITI EARTHQUAKE APPEAL.

In response to the disaster in Haiti, Kent Inns are putting on special charity events in aid of the British Red Cross at two of their venues in east Kent and will be hosted by TV Celebrity Chef, John Burton Race.

A wonderful 3-course menu will be developed for the event and tickets are available (in advance only) for £30.

SPECIAL DINNER PREPARED AND HOSTED BY MICHELIN-STARRED CELEBRITY CHEF, JOHN BURTON RACE.

Harveys of Ramsgate, Monday 30th November, 7.30pm

We are delighted to announce a special dinner at Harveys of Ramsgate to celebrate the granting of our new license from the Marine Fisheries Agency, which allows us to buy fish directly from the fishermen on the dock here in Ramsgate.

The three course meal will be prepared by our very own Development Chef and Michelin-star holder, John Burton-Race, together with his kitchen brigade here at Harveys, focusing on the freshest and most seasonal ingredients.

Tickets are limited and are at a special "start-the-week" price of £25 per person.

Please note that there will be a TV crew present, currently following Mr Burton Race for a forthcoming Network TV series.

HARVEYS FOOD & WINE CLUB EVENING


 
A personal invitation to
HARVEYS FOOD & WINE CLUB EVENING
FRIDAY 6TH NOVEMBER 2009, 7.30PM

I am pleased to announce the next in the series of Food & Wine Club evenings at HARVEYS OF RAMSGATE, to take place in our Private Dining Room overlooking the Royal Harbour, on Friday 6th November, starting at 7.30pm.

After the success of our last event (attended by our Development Chef and TV Personality John Burton-Race) we are delighted and privileged that our next evening will be hosted by MASTER OF WINE, CLIVE BARLOW.

Clive is well-known in the world of wine, giving seminars and wine-tasting courses throughout Europe and recently returning from South America, where he is championing some of the smaller producers not hitherto seen in Europe. He is also the Chair of Education at the Institute of Masters of Wine and is a senior judge for the International Wine Challenge and Decanter Awards.

Clive will be presenting a selection of wines, sourced by him, which are especially chosen to match the food. He will be talking about the background to each wine and his reasons for choosing it, and will also be open to questions throughout the evening.

Those of you who attended the last Club meeting will know that we use these events to showcase some of our upcoming dishes in a convivial, private and informal setting.

The meal, as before, will consist of 3 courses (starter, main and dessert) with a glass of the selected wines with each course. There will also be vegetarian and meat options available. The form of this meeting will be slightly different from previously, however, with the meal starting for everyone at 7.30. This, we feel, will mean that we will all be able to taste the food and wines at the same time, encouraging discussion as the evening progresses.

Due to the previous popularity for this event and limited seating, tickets will be available to purchase on a strictly first come, first served basis, payable in advance.
