Fish Market, Oyster House & Restaurant
The opening of Harveys in June 2009 was the realization of a dream for the husband-and-wife team of Richard & Sherry Martin, whose “Kent Inns of Distinction” group acquired and re-developed the previously derelict site. A revelation to those who have yet to experience the Kent coast’s fine seafood and a reminder for those who have, Harveys is proud to bring the art of fine dining to Ramsgate.
Harvey’s food is celebrated for its wonderful flavour combinations, superb local ingredients (fish straight from the harbour’s boats), unrivalled technical skill and brilliant presentation. An absolute attention to detail and a team striving for perfection every day is what you can expect. Constantly seeking to improve by evolving new new dishes from old ones, is the way of Harveys.
Harvey’s isn’t stuffy and formal; it’s convivial and fun as we think restaurants should to be. Part of that fun is the sense of occasion and atmosphere that is imbued but another part is trying things you haven’t had before. Whether a dish personally recommended by the waiter or a wine you hadn’t even heard of, at Harveys you will be encouraged to challenge your senses and be surprised.
Occupying a prominent position overlooking England’s only Royal harbour, the restaurant commands fantastic views of the marina and across the English channel. Following its refit, the former pub has re-invented itself as a modern, light and airy restaurant arranged over two individually-styled floors.
Upon entering via the contemporary glass fronted main doorway guests are met with whitewash paneled walls and a dramatic white marble-backed seafood bar. Comfy modern leather stools provide the perfect “perch” for guests wishing to dine at the bar. Ships-deck style floors, generously spaced large oak tables and deeply upholstered chairs add to the stylish and comfortable emphasis to the dining areas. |
